Foundations teaches touch typing from nothing. It starts with where to sit and where the hands rest, adds the keyboard two keys at a time in the order that gives you real words soonest, and finishes with capitals, punctuation and whole paragraphs. Every lesson opens with a short read on what the fingers are about to do and why, followed by drills that only ever use keys you have already met, and closes with a check that has to be passed cleanly before the next lesson counts as done. At the end of each unit a Weak Spot Drill is built from your own errors. Finish it and you will type every letter without looking, at a steady twenty-five words a minute or better, with the habits that let the Fluency course take you much further.

Reaching up
The top row, two keys at a time, most useful letters first.
Reaching down
The bottom row, the comma, the full stop and the slash. The alphabet is complete.
Shift and punctuation
Capitals with the opposite hand's Shift, then the marks that make sentences.
Whole hands, whole words
No new keys. The shapes words make, the common ones, and a timed graduation.
